Czech exam — practice tests and exercises
Every exam exercise in one place. Each pack is a set of exercises in the format of the Czech language exam — sample tests covering listening, reading, writing and speaking, plus civics (reálie) for B1; you can also drill a single skill separately below. Free exam preparation online, in your browser, with AI grading.
ⓘ Our exercises are sample tests in the exam format, created with the help of AI and reviewed by us () — a tool to help you prepare. We do not use any official exam materials or questions, and this site does not replace a teacher or a language course — see the Terms of Use.
A2 exam — permanent residence (trvalý pobyt)
B1 exam — citizenship (language + reálie)
Single-skill exercises
For when you want to polish just one part of the exam — no time limit, as many times as you need.
Storytelling from pictures
Describe what is in a picture and tell a story from a sequence of pictures — exactly the task the oral part uses.
Writing
Forms, e-mails and short texts with a minimum word count — with feedback on both content and language.
Monologues
Sustained speech on a given topic — practice for the part of the exam people fear most.
What each pack contains
There are eight packs — four at A2 (for permanent residence) and four at B1 (for citizenship) — and each one is a full set of exercises in the real exam format: reading, listening with recordings, writing and speaking, plus reálie (knowledge of Czech life and institutions) in the B1 packs. You can work through them one after another. You do them online, in the browser — no PDFs to print, no account to create.
Objective questions are checked instantly and give you a score. Writing and speaking are graded by AI: you get marks, a list of your mistakes and a model answer — so you know not just what you scored, but why.
How to use them
The simplest way is to sit one full pack first and see which part gives you the most trouble. Then come back to it in the practice sections — photo description, monologue and writing each have their own AI-graded exercises.
With four packs at each level there is enough material for months of steady practice. A good way in: sit one full pack against the clock as a diagnostic, then use the remaining packs to drill the modules where you lost the most marks. If you are only starting with Czech, begin with the beginner course and come back here once you are closer to B1.
Common questions
Are the tests free?
Yes. All the packs, the recordings and the AI grading work without payment and without signing up — on the AI tasks you only confirm that you are not a bot.
Do the exercises come with answers?
Yes. Objective questions are checked automatically and show the correct answer, while your written and spoken answers get an AI evaluation along with a model answer.
Are these real past papers?
No — these are our own tasks, written in the format and at the level of the official Czech exam for foreigners (A2 and B1). The official sample papers are published by the National Pedagogical Institute (NPI ČR) at cestina-pro-cizince.cz.
